05 The MoveMINT

LEWIS

I was a little nervous about doing my first men’s underwear shoot with MINT Wear, but once I saw their concept of using non stereotypical men’s bodies of differing shapes, cultures, colours and ages, I felt it important to be involved - not just for myself, but to help break down the stigmas around perfect bodies that still exist today in the media, and to inspire positive and non-stereotypical views of body shape and later life.

For me, #bodypositive, self-esteem and #agepositive go hand-in-hand. I feel the older I get, the more confidence I gain. I actually don’t care anymore what people think about my body or age.

If I could say one thing to my younger self, it would be this: you don’t have to fix your body as it was never broken. There is no such thing as an imperfect body, it’s just different from everyone else’s and that’s what makes you individual. How boring a world would it be, if everybody was a ‘perfect’ clone of each other?
